From Press Reports
Ice cream was the No. 1 hit of the Controllers Generation II 4-H Club of Maben on June 17 at West Oktibbeha County High School.
In honor of June being National Dairy Month, Frances Page’s presentation was on choosing foods from the dairy group.
Page, Mississippi State University Expanded Food and Nutrition Education Program youth educator, enlightened the attendees on how the intake of dairy products is linked to improving bone health and its association with reducing the risk of cardiovascular disease and type 2 diabetes, and with lowering blood pressure in adults.
Page not only gave out handouts, she made ice cream. Maggie Banks said, “If I have something my grandchildren want, I normally give it to them, but I just couldn’t give them my good ‘O’ ice cream.”
