Mitchell 1st alternate to Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen

Macy Mitchell of Petal placed in the top five of the Miss Mississippi’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Vicksburg on June 1.

Mitchell, the daughter of Michael and Leesa Mitchell, competed in the state pageant with the preliminary title of Southern Magnolia’s Outstanding Teen. Mitchell is the granddaughter of Janie Woods and Russell Berryhill, both of Eupora.

The winner was Miss Riverland Anne Elizabeth Buys of Vicksburg (and granddaughter of Mattelyn and the late Dr. James E. Booth of Eupora). Buys will represent the state of Mississippi at the Miss America’s Outstanding Teen Pageant in Orlando, Fla., in August.

Also finishing in the top five — Leaf River Valley’s Outstanding Teen Brooke Bullock of Petal was second alternate and overall talent winner. Miss Tupelo’s Outstanding Teen Alivia Roberts of Tupelo was third alternate and Miss North Central, Lydia Myers of Northeast Jones, was fourth runner-up and also awarded Miss Congeniality.
