Man faces questioning in area crimes

From Press, Staff Reports

A Webster County man wanted for questioning on multiple crimes in the state was picked up by Chickasaw County law enforcement Saturday afternoon.

John Curtis Williams, 27, was transported to Calhoun County, where he was to be questioned in the case of one burglary and two grand larceny charges, according to Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan.

Pollan said Williams has a hold on him from the Mississippi Department of Corrections, in addition to being wanted by Webster and Yalobusha counties’ law enforcement for various charges.

Pollan said he was spotted by police in a stolen pickup truck on Highway 15 near Houston.

Webster County Sheriff Tim Mitchell confirmed that Williams is wanted for questioning in connection with burglaries in the county. Mitchell also said the MDOC hold against him is for a parole violation in Webster County.
