Mary Alice Black

Services for Mary Alice Black, 79, were May 17, 2013, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial was in Mt. Nebo Cemetery near Ackerman.

She was born Feb. 20, 1934, in Payne. Mrs. Black was a homemaker and member of Churchroad Baptist Church. She died May 14, 2013, at her residence in Mantee.

Survivors include her husband, Selby W. Black of Mantee; a daughter, Ann Black of Mantee; three brothers, Claude Turman and William Turman of Mantee, and Richard Turman of Horn Lake; and a sister, Rose Evelyn Turman of California.

 

Charles L. Calloway

May 14, 2013

Graveside services for Charles L. Calloway, 74, were May 17, 2013, at Enon Cemetery.

He was born July 21, 1938, in Choctaw County. Mr. Calloway was a self-employed construction worker and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He died May 14, 2013, at his residence in Eagle Lake.

Survivors include a son, Greg Calloway of Soldotna, Alaska; and two grandchildren.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

 

Mildred L. Chandler

May 13, 2013

Services for Mildred L. Chandler, 95, of Ripley, Tenn., formerly of Weir, were May 16, 2013, at Weir Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Mayo and Jim Ray officiating. Burial was in Weir Cemetery.

She was born Sept. 29, 1917, in Mississippi. Mrs. Chandler was a member of Weir Baptist Church. She died May 13, 2013, at Asbury Cove Assisted Living Center in Ripley, Tenn.

Survivors include four sons, David Chandler, Don Chandler, Jerry Chandler and Robert Chandler; three daughters, Ellouise Bane, Debbie Mays and Elaine Phillips; 19 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.

Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

 

W.C. Coffey

April 27, 2013

Services for W.C. Coffey, 77, of Calhoun City were May 4, 2013, at Macedonia M.B. Church in Eupora. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He died April 27, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include one granddaughter.

Eddie Robinson Funeral Home of Grenada was in charge of arrangements.

 

Donald Gammill

May 17, 2013

Services for Donald Irvin Gammill, 77, of Eupora were May 21, 2013, at Wise Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with the Revs. Michael Mann and Granville Wiggins officiating. Burial was in Mount Nebo Cemetery.

He was born June 17, 1935, in Clarkson to the late John K. and Emma Mae Lewis Gammill. Mr. Gammill served eight years in the U.S. Air Force and was active in the Longview Opry in Sturgis. He died May 17, 2013, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include three sons, Donald Arnold of Greenwood, David Ray Gammill of Eupora and Darrell Gammill of Nashville, Tenn.; two daughters, Diane Bowie of Louisville and Tonya Avent of Mathiston; a brother, Roy Gammill of West Point; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were Johnathon Avent, Liddell Carrithers, John Edd Cooper, James Kilgore, Steven McCullar and Jamey Springer.
