EHS welcomes new coach to Eagle family

Danya Turner was named as Eupora High School’s new varsity basket coach last Thursday.

Turner comes to EHS from Kemper County High School where he was head football coach for one season. Turner previously coached basketball at Weir High School, where his career record was 111-33.

He was chosen as district coach of the year four times, and took his team to compete for the State Championship one year.

Turner, who served as head football coach at Weir for two seasons, will coach the defensive line for the EHS Eagles during the 2013 season.

Coach Turner is joined by his wife Lasandra. They have three sons, twins Donovan and Devin who will be 6th graders at EHS next school year, and Mitchell, who will begin kindergarten at EES.
