Storytimes feature Pete the Cat

A new series of books is available for children at the Webster County
Public Library in Eupora. The main character of this series is Pete
the Cat. Ms. Bonnie read two of the books at storytime recently.

“Pete the Cat’s Big Lunch” was read on April 4. Pete learned he
needed to share his lunch with his friends because he had too much
food. The children had fun singing a new song, “Peanut Butter and
Jelly,” as well as the “ABC” song, “If You Are Happy and You Know It”
and “1 Little, 2 Little, 3 Little Bumblebees.”

After the story, the children, with the help of their moms, used
their imagination and made different objects from Play-Doh. They all
picked out a treat from the Treasure Chest and went home with a
Healthy Food Coloring Sheet.

On March 10, Ms. Bonnie read “Pete the Cat: Play Ball.” Since
baseball season is underway, they all enjoyed hearing about Pete and
his friend Ben. Pete and Ben learned that winning isn’t everything.
They had to just do their best.

After the story everyone made construction paper butterflies. Along
with their butterflies, each child picked out a treat from the
treasure chest.

Storytime is every Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Webster County
Public Library.
