Retired educators hear healthcare program

By Sandra Dalton

The local Retired Education Personnel of Mississippi met April 2 in
the Mathiston Public Library.

Representatives attending the state meeting in Jackson in March gave
an updated report on issues discussed.

Suggestions were then made as to how to get retires not enrolled to
join and give their support to strengthen our system.

Sherry Crowley gave a thoughtful and inspiring devotion on emptiness
and how Jesus came to fulfill.

Marianne Johnson, chief nursing officer/director of clinic services
at Trace Regional Hospital in Houston, gave an informative program on
healthcare. She noted things everyone needs to be aware of to ensure
needed care from hospitals and doctors, especially dealing with
Medicare and other insurances.

Our next meeting will be June 5 at Whites Creek Lake in Eupora for
our annual picnic. Please come and join the group.
