established for
Lollar family
A benefit account has been established at Regions Bank for the Johnny
Lollar family, which lost its home on Peppertown Road to fire April 15.
If you would like to help this family, tax-exempt donations can be
made by making checks out to Johnny Lollar and mailing to Regions
Bank, 619 W. Fox Ave., Eupora, MS 39744.

Sprayberry reunion
The 79th annual Sprayberry reunion will be April 20 at the Calhoun
City American Legion building starting at 9 a.m. Bring your favorite
dish.

Catherin Crutchfield
benefit Saturday
A benefit for Catherin Baker Crutchfield will be at 3 p.m. April 20
at the Woodmen of the World building east of Eupora at highways 182
and 82 . Come show your support for Catherin and her battle against
cancer.
Concessions will include hamburger plates ($7), hot dog plates ($5),
popcorn and sno-cones. Activities will include horse and buggy rides,
an inflatable slide, and cake and toy walk. Local talent and the
Joyful Noise Quartet will provide entertainment.
The benefit will feature a raffle for $100 and a Heritage .22-caliber
revolver with shells. Chances are $2 each or three for $5. A live
auction starts at 6 p.m. “Praying for Catherin” T-shirts are
available for $15 each.
An account has been set up at Regions Bank for Crutchfield. All money
raised is to help with medical bills and expenses.

4-H Cloverbuds
The first 4-H Cloverbud meeting of the year will be at 5 p.m. April
23 at the Webster County Extension Office in Eupora.
Refreshments and a fun activity will be provided. 4-H Cloverbuds is
an exciting 4-H program for 5- to 8-year-old children. The program
offers noncompetitive, age-appropriate activities designed to help
children learn about life.

Chances for prints
benefit Relay
Murphy Drug & Gifts is selling chances on a print of the Webster
County Courthouse and a print of the Eupora Historic High School for
Relay for Life.
Chances are $2 and may be purchased at Murphy Drugs or at Relay for
Life on April 26.

Relay for Life
“Cancer Never Takes a Holiday” is the theme of Webster County’s fifth
annual Relay for Life, which will be April 26 from 6 p.m.-1 a.m. at
North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora’s walking track.
The event is designed to celebrate cancer survivorship and raise
money to support the research, education, advocacy and patient
assistance programs of the American Cancer Society. See other reports
in this issue for additional details.

Relay for Life
event luminarias
The American Cancer society and people throughout the United States
are committed to winning the battle against cancer. Join people
throughout Webster County to help in the fight against this dreaded
disease by making a donation of $10 for a luminaria in honor or in
memory of someone touched by cancer.
Webster County’s fifth annual Relay for Life event will be April 26.
Luminarias (with the names on them) will line the walking track at
North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora Hospital on April 26, the
night of the event. During the event, all participants will share in
the special luminaria ceremony; candles will be lit and names will be
called of those for whom donations for luminaries have been received.
Anyone interested in making a donation of $10 for a luminaria may
request an order form at businesses that display the bright yellow
luminaria poster or by calling Frances Hyde at 552-0705. People are
encouraged to secure their luminarias early so that they may enjoy
the activities the night of the event. Join in the fight against cancer.

Jonathan Pollard
benefit April 27
A benefit for Jonathan Pollard will be April 27 from 11 a.m.-7 p.m.
at the Sherwood Community Center in Choctaw County. Lunch and supper
will be served throughout the day (donations will be accepted).
Lunch: Chicken spaghetti or spaghetti with coleslaw, garlic bread,
dessert and tea. Supper: Chili or soup with crackers, cornbread,
dessert and tea.
Activities during the day will include a dessert walk, musical
entertainment, small- and large-item raffles
Pollard was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma in November. He began
chemotherapy treatments in January. His insurance does not cover all
of the treatment costs, and he needs some assistance with the
outstanding medical bills.

Eupora Jr. High
cheerleaders
pizza fundraiser
Eupora Jr. High cheerleaders are holding a Little Caesars fundraiser
to raise money from April 22 through May 3 to raise money for camp
costs.
Little Caesars pizza kits, cookie dough and pie kits range in price
from $12-$19 and contain all the ingredients to bake pizza, bread,
pies and cookies at home in minutes.
To order your items from Eupora Jr. High cheerleaders, contact
Charlotte Newman at 552-3189 before May 3.

Fundraiser trail ride
The Webster Search and Rescue Team will be having a fundraiser trail
ride May 3-5 on Mount Vernon Road in Webster County.
Cost for the weekend will be $20/adults, $10/kids (12 and under). Day
riders can come and enjoy the ride only on Saturday for $10/adults,
$5/kids (12 and under). Breakfast and supper will be provided on
Saturday (day riders can enjoy the meals for an extra $5).
The weekend stay will be primitive camping/no hookups. Saturday night
entertainment will be provided. Gates open at 2 p.m. Friday.
Directions: take U.S. 82 to Tomnolen, turn north on Greensboro Road,
turn right on Center Road and turn right on Mount Vernon Road,
approximately 1 mile on left. All proceeds go to the Webster Search
and Rescue Team.

A flea market in Weir will be May 4 from 7 a.m.- 2 p.m. There is no

MayFest
The Civic League of Mathiston is putting together its first MayFest,
which will be May 4 starting at 9 a.m.
MayFest will include vendors, food, fun for the children, live
entertainment and the fun goes on into the night with a silent
auction, raffle giveaway and karaoke.
Vendor spots are $10 and location is on a first-come, first-serve
basis. Also, all church, praise, worship and drama teams are invited
to perform as well as soloists and groups. A PA system will be
provided for the entertainment.

The Biggers-Trussell Family Reunion will be at 1 p.m. May 5 at 4180

EHS ‘60s reunion
The Eupora High School Class of ‘63 will be hosting a ‘60s reunion
for all students from 1960-69 classes from 1-3 p.m. May 25 at EHS.

Storytime at Webster County Public Library in Eupora is every
Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3-6 are invited to attend and
enjoy stories and activities.

Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and
Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in
the Education Conference Room.

Bingo at VFW
Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.

Longview Opry
Enjoy music, refreshments and fun at the Longview Opry on Highway 12
in Longview every Saturday at 7 p.m. Talent is welcome. Admission is

Grove Chapel M.B. Church, located at 281 Fifth Ave., Maben, will have
its 10th annual Mother/Daughter Banquet at 6 p.m. April 20. Linda
Dempsey, Cathy Hollingshed and Cathleen Hych will be the guest speakers.

“Super Sunday” will be April 21 at Maben Church of God, 3965 Crowley
Drive. Bro. Tommy Conn will be bringing the message at 11 a.m. A
puppet show and youth service will be at 5 p.m. Members are bringing
Mexican dishes for the meal after the evening service.

Mississippi State University’s premier dance company will join FBC
Eupora for a special worship performance this Sunday. Join us for
