Children enjoy Easter storytimes
By Fran Smith
Children attending the storytime at Webster County Public Library the
last two weeks in March enjoyed listening to stories about Easter.
On March 20, Ms. Bonnie read “Peter Rabbit’s Happy Easter.” Before
the story began, everyone sang and danced to their favorite songs.
While wearing bunny ears and playing with bunny hand puppets, they
danced to “Peter Cottontail’s Bunny Hop.”
After the story, each child made their own bunny out of paper rolls
and cotton balls. As they were leaving, everyone received a treat
from the treasure box.
On March 27, the children arrived with their Easter baskets eager for
the egg hunt. As usual they sang and danced once again with their
bunny ears on and waving their bunny puppets.
Since this was the day for the annual egg hunt at the library, eggs
had been hidden outside by a parent and older child while the others
were listening to Ms. Bonnie read “The Easter Egg Hunt.”
After the story, the children hurried outside to find the eggs. After
all the eggs had been found, everyone came back inside for a party,
which had been furnished by parents. Filled with sugar cookies ,
candy and Capri Sun, all went home.
Storytime is each Wednesday at Webster County Library in Eupora at
10:30 a.m. for ages 3-6.
