4-H’ers excel in projects, programs

Webster County 4-H’ers participated and excelled in various projects
and programs in 2011-12, and were rewarded for their hard work and
dedication at the 2012 Webster County 4-H Awards Banquet on Nov, 12
at the Webster County Extension Office.

County Director Lisa Stewart recognized each 4-H member for his or
her achievements in their project areas. Awards were presented by
Extension Agent Jennifer Williams.

Both 4-H members and volunteers were recognized for their outstanding
work and accomplishments. Those honors were awarded to:

Shooting Sports members:
Zach Avent, .22 Rifle and Shotgun; Lela Denson, .22 Rifle; Alex
Hill, .22 Rifle; Ben Hill Shotgun (State Qualifier); Jasmine Hill,
10M Air Rifle, .22 Rifle; Justin Hill, .22 Rifle; Joseph Miller, .22
Rifle, Shotgun; Mitchell Shaw, Shotgun, .22 Rifle; Tucker Shaw, .22
Rifle; Joseph Stauffer, 10M Air Rifle; Zach Walker, .22 Rifle (State
Qualifier and National Team Alternate) ; Lauren Walker, .22 Pistol,
Shotgun (State Qualifier); Arey Weeks, Shotgun; Austin Wilson, .22
Rifle, Shotgun; and Elizabeth Wilson, .22 Rifle.

Horse Project:
Chad Crowley competed in riding events, Horse Photography (Chad
received 1st place Sr. in the Horse Photography Contest); Justin
Crowley competed in at hand classes, Jr. Horse Bowl, Jr. Hypology and
Jr. Horse Judging (State Qualifier); Christopher Holland competed in
Jr. Horse Bowl, Jr. Hypology and Jr. Horse Judging (State Qualifier);
Emmie Rowlen competed in riding events, Jr. Hypology and Jr. Horse
Bowl (State Qualifier); Kathrine Rowlen competed in at-hand classes,
riding events, Jr. Hypology, Jr. Horse Bowl and Jr. Horse Judging
(State Qualifier); and Christopher Stuckey competed in Jr. Horse Bowl
and Jr. Horse Judging (State Qualifier).

2012 Poultry Chain Projects:
Sean Pounds competed on the county and state level with his poultry
project.

Beef Projects:
Corrine Jackson competed at State Fair Livestock Show, NE District
Livestock Show and Dixie National Jr. Roundup Livestock Show.

Dillon Jones competed at State Fair.

Kory Liddell competed at State Fair Livestock Show, NE District
Livestock Show and Dixie National Jr. Roundup Livestock Show.

Dairy Projects:
Emmie Rowlen competed at State Fair Livestock Show and NE District
Livestock Show.
Kathrine Rowlen competed at State Fair Livestock Show and NE District
Livestock Show.

Goat Projects:
Evan Chandler competed at State Fair Livestock Show.

State Fair Exhibitors:
These 4-H’ers exhibited projects in the 4-H Village: Chad Crowley,
Justin Crowley, Mary Davidson, Autumn Dean, Christopher Holland,
Emmie Rowlen, Kathrine Rowlen, Tyler Waller, Aaron Woodson and Emily
Woodson.

Volunteer Leaders:
Volunteer leaders are Jean Berry, Kelley Chandler, Benny Hill, Nancy
Jackson, Shawna Pounds, Amy Rowlen, Danyelle Yeatman and Scott, Yeatman.
