Sophomores in Amy Roberson’s world history classes at Eupora High
School have been studying the growth of American and European
prosperity during the mid- to late 1800s to the early 1900s.
Students learned about the increase in the standard of living for
Americans and Europeans brought about by the Second Industrial
Revolution, new discoveries that radically changed scientific thought
and social consciousness of the time, and leisure activities made
possible by this new standard of living that individuals enjoyed
during this period of history.
