Eupora FUMC
Holy Week
Eupora first United Methodist Church announces these upcoming Holy
Week activities:
• On Palm Sunday, March 24, the children will lead the Procession of
the Palms during the morning service and the Older Children’s
Handbell Choir will ring in the joyous day.
At 6 p.m., at Eupora First Baptist Church, choir members from EFUMC
will be participating in their first Community Easter Service with
the choir and musicians of First Baptist.
• Lenten Lunches will return March 25-27: On Monday, Tuesday and
Wednesday, from noon until 1 p.m. the church will host a soup and
sandwich lunch with a special time of devotion.
Monday’s speaker will be the Rev. Dr. Embra Jackson, superintendent
of the Starkville District of the United Methodist Church. Tuesday
will be led by the Rev. Trey Harper EFUMC pastor, and Wednesday will
be led by the Rev. Jason Carson of FBC of Eupora.
• On Good Friday, March 29, the church will celebrate its traditional
“come-and-go” family Communion service. The sanctuary will be open
all day for prayer. Communion will be served from noon to 1 p.m. and
then from 5:30-7 p.m.
• On Holy Saturday, March 30, the annual Kid’s Kingdom Easter Egg
Hunt starts at 11 a.m. for children of all ages. A $5 donation per
family is requested and all children are asked to bring at least six
candy-filled eggs to share.
• On March 31, Easter Sunday, EFUMC will have a sunrise service at
6:30 a.m. in the Outdoor Worship Space, led by the Youth Praise Team.
Afterwards, the United Methodist men will host the annual Family
Easter Breakfast in the fellowship hall. Sunday School will not be
held, but the traditional Easter celebration will begin at 11 a.m.;
nursery services are available. The service will include handbells,
brass and music provided by the Chancel Choir.
The public is invited to all of the services and activities of EFUMC.
Special voluntary donations for missions will be accepted at most

FBC Eupora
• Easter musical: Join First Baptist Church of Eupora for the annual
Easter musical event “I Will Rise” set for 6 p.m. March 24 in the
church sanctuary. First United Methodist Church Choir will be special

• JOY Club: JOY Club will meet for its monthly potluck lunch at 11:30
a.m. March 26 in the fellowship hall of First Baptist Church. The

• Salad luncheon: The First Baptist Church Relay for Life team will
host its annual Salad Luncheon fundraiser March 29 from 11 a.m. until
1 p.m. in the fellowship hall of FBC Eupora.
A wide variety of salads will be available, including dessert salads,
dine in or take out. Donations for lunch will be accepted. All
proceeds from the event will go to the Webster County Relay for Life
event for the American Cancer Society. For more information about the

• Good Friday: The public is invited to First Baptist Church of
Eupora for a special service to commemorate Good Friday. The service
is set for noon March 29. For more information about all of the

• Easter: Eupora’s First Baptist Church will have sunrise services
Easter morning at 7:30 March 31, followed by breakfast in the Family
Life Center.
The preschool choir will perform at the 11 a.m. service. There will
be no evening services on March 31.
• Singing Churchmen: The Singing Churchmen will be in concert at
First Baptist Church of Eupora at 7 p.m. April 15.

Mathiston FBC
Easter egg hunt
Bring your Easter basket and come hunt eggs with Walt Disney
characters at 2 p.m. March 23 at First Baptist Church of Mathiston.
Plenty of eggs to hunt and prizes will be given away. The church will
have a booth with a professional photographer ready to capture your
little one’s memories or you can bring your own camera and make your
own.
A donation of $10 per person or $20 per family will go to the Webster
County Relay for Life.

‘Secret Church’
at Mathiston FBC
First Baptist Church of Mathiston will be hosting a LifeWay simulcast
of “Secret Church” on Good Friday, March 29.
David Platt, head pastor of The Church of Brook Hills in Birmingham,
Ala., will lead the Bible study from 6 p.m.-midnight. The
presentation will be free of charge to all attendees. Call 263-5334

World Harvest Good
Friday presentation
World Harvest Ministries will be hosting a special Good Friday
multimedia presentation called “I AM” on March 29 at 7 p.m.
This presentation will take you through the life of Christ and the
Second Coming. This will be a moving experience shared through song
and media. A choir made up of vocalists from Miracle Land Church,
Eupora; Walthall BC; Soul City House of God, Eupora; Church House of
Refuge Family Worship Center, West Point; FBC Starkville and
Starkville Church of God will be participating.
The service will be held at 45 N. Dunn St. (Miracle Land Church),
Eupora. Dr. Bob Meek, pastor (World Harvest) and Randy Wilson, pastor
(Miracle Land Church), and congregations invite all the local
churches and public to attend.

The annual “March for Jesus” parade begins at 10 a.m. March 30 in
