Hamburger plate
Relay fundraiser

Hamburger/cheeseburger plate lunches will be available March 1 from
11 a.m.-1 p.m. at
Mississippi HomeCare of Eupora, located on the corner of Main Street
(North Dunn and West Roane).
The lunch includes burger and fixings, chips, drink and dessert for a
donation of $6. All proceeds will go to Relay for Life.
Local delivery is available; call 258-4339.

Dr. Seuss’
109th birthday
Come to the Mathiston Public Library on March 2 and help the Civic
League of Mathiston celebrate Dr. Seuss’ 109th birthday!
From 11 a.m.-noon have your picture made with The Cat in the Hat for
$5 and beginning at noon, “The Cat in the Hat” will be read, then
an activity and food. Please call 579-7020 for more information.

Salad luncheon
The GFWC/MFWC Eupora 20th Century Club will sponsor a salad luncheon
March 5.
Plates ordered may be picked up at the Eupora First Baptist Church
Family Life Center between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Pre-orders only are being taken. The deadline for orders is March 1.
The cost is $8 for a salad plate, which includes three specialty
salads plus a dessert salad.
Tickets for salad luncheon plates are available from any 20th Century
Club member, or contact Frances Hyde at 552-0705, Heidi Young at
258-5921, ext. 19 or Naioma Lamb, president, at 242-5607.
Proceeds from the salad luncheon club fundraiser will be used to
support community projects and scholarships sponsored by the

20th Century Club.
Basic computer
skills class
Holmes Workforce Development will offer a basic six-week computer
skills class March 25-April 29 at the Wood Institute campus in
Participants will learn how use email, the Internet and Microsoft
Word. The class will be taught Mondays from 5-7 p.m. and the cost is
$10 a person (includes a USB drive). For registration contact Slade

Quick Bites
You may bring your lunch and join us for the following “Quick
Bites” programs which are held at the Webster County Extension
Office from noon-1 pm. Please call 258-3971 to register for each.

• March 7 – Blowin’ in the Wind
Lynette McDougald, instructor and manager, March is known for the
winds that are a prelude to spring. This floral program will focus on
creating the element of movement in design.

• March 14 – iPad Basics
Jamie Varner, Extension instructor. The iPad is quickly becoming a
favorite for a variety of reasons including flexibility, portability,
engagement, intriguing apps and more. Join us to learn helpful iPad
“tips and tricks.”

• March 21 – The Amazing World of Azaleas
Dr. Wayne Porter, area Extension agent, Azaleas are native to many
parts of the world. Proper selection and care will provide blooms
from early spring until the first frost.

• March 28 – Herbicide Use for Weed Control
Dr. John Byrd, Extension and Research professor, Along with the green
grass, there may be other green things like weeds! Crabgrass,
dallisgrass and other weeds are fighting for space in your yard. Join
Byrd for updates on MSMA crabgrass herbicide.

Fitness class
Pleasant Hill U.M. Church and the Controllers Generation II 4H Club
Health, Fitness and Nutrition Let it RIP (Recreation Intervention
Program) personal fitness trainer Jacob Harris provides a fun and
motivating fitness class that puts the fun back into getting fit.
This class gives children and adults the knowledge and confidence
they need to make exercise a part of life. The classes are held at
West Oktibbeha County High School. For more information on joining

Story Hour
Story Hour at the Maben Public Library is every Friday at 10 a.m.
Come enjoy stories, music and other fun learning experiences for ages
3 to 6.

Story Time
Story Time at Webster County Public Library in Eupora is every
Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. Children ages 3-6 are invited to attend and
enjoy stories and activities.

AA meetings
Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and
Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in
the Education Conference Room.

Bingo at VFW
Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.

Longview Opry
Enjoy music, refreshments and fun at the Longview Opry on Highway 12
