Head Start children visit library

By Librarian Fran Smith Webster County Public Library

Two groups of children from Eupora Head Start Center visited the Webster County Public Library in January.

On Jan. 24, Ms, Bonnie read “The Rooster Who Lost His Crow” and “The Little Red Hen” to the first group. After listening to the books, the children were able to play with puppets as they sang “Old McDonald Had a Farm.” They also sang “Wheels on the Bus.” Coloring sheets were given to the leaders to use later in the day.

On Jan. 31, another group visited with Ms. Bonnie for a storytime. The children listened to the story “Pete the Cat, Rocking in my School Shoes.” They sang “Wheels on the Bus,” “B-I-N-G-O” and “If You’re Happy and You Know It.”

All the children had fun singing and playing with the puppets. Coloring sheets were also given to the second group to take back to the center for use later in the day.
