Children make valentines at Story Hour in Maben

By Librarian Mary Boutwell Maben Public Library Children attending Story Hour at the Maben Public Library made valentines for their families on Feb. 1.

Our story was “Mouse’s First Valentine.” It showed all the pretty things needed to make a very special Valentine for your friend.

The children used red paper, glue, ribbon and lace to make beautiful hearts with the words “I Love You” on it. While our valentines were a little different, they turned out very pretty. We then played with shaving cream, where we practiced making hearts, handprints, our name and snowmen with it. The library smelled like shaving cream but lots of fun was had by all. The favorite song for the day was “Tooty-Ta.”
