From School Reports

During the last week of October, Eupora Elementary School celebrated Red Ribbon Week to take a pledge to be drug free.

The National Red Ribbon theme for 2012 was “The Best ME is Drug Free.” Several activities and events were planned for this week.

The students were allowed to dress up each day during this week: Monday- “The Best ME is Drug Free”: dress like what you want to be when you grow up Tuesday- “Keep Your Head in the Game”: the students will wear something showing their favorite sport or anything related (cheerleader, etc.) Wednesday- “Be a HERO”: dress in camo or for military Thursday- “Boot Out Drugs”: dress as a cowboy or cowgirl Friday- “WEAR RED”: wear LOTS of RED to show being drug free

A door decorating contest was also held during this week. The first- place winner for Grades K-3 was Holley Crowell’s first-grade class. The first-place winner for Grades 4-6 was Amanda Richardson’s third- class. Both classes received Coke Float parties on Friday of that week. The Special Class winners were first place, Leslie Frank and second place, Jan Bowen.

All classes that participated are to be commended for a job well done and participation in such an important week for all.
