MABEN — The 142 students of West Oktibbeha County High School received a surprise visit from Santa by way of First Baptist Church of Maben on Dec. 17.

Students, who were enjoying lunch, were invited to pick a sack filled with fruit, socks, toothpaste, ornaments, pencils, pens, gloves and some candy from those provided by the members of the First Baptist Church.

Principal Jeffery Grant welcomed Brother Tommy Temple and Mr. and Mrs. Allen Fulgham to the school. Principal Grant and Brother Temple both announced that the school and the church were partners in the educating and loving the students of the small rural high school.

Brother Temple led the group in prayer before inviting all to come choose a sack and then an extra piece of fruit or cookie before returning to class.
