Mantee holds Christmas parade

From Staff Reports

The Mantee Christmas Parade was Dec. 15, followed by a chili supper fundraiser at the fire station.

Hazel Forrester served as the parade’s grand marshal. Hazel and the late Howard Forrester lived in Mantee many years; they both grew up in the area.

Howard served as town policeman for years. After his death, Hazel moved to be close to her daughter, Dee Ellison. She now lives in Eupora.

“The community misses Hazel and Howard,” stated Mayor Mary Frances Baker. “They were always involved in everything and an asset to this community.”

Float winners were Lindie Lou’s, first place; Mantee Baptist Church, second place and Griffin Norman, third place.
