The Webster County Board of Education has recognized member Etty P. Brown for her two terms of service .
She was honored at her final meeting as District 3’s board member on Dec. 11. Brown did not seek re-election to another term.
Superintendent of Education Jack Treloar, on behalf of the board, presented her with a plaque and a gift for her service. The plaque honored and commended Brown for 12 years of dedicated service to the students and staff of Webster County School District.
Brown, in thanking the people of District 3 and the county, stated: “I ran for the board 12 years ago to help improve education in Webster County. All of my decisions were made thinking of the children first. My interest will always be for the children of Webster County. Thanks to each of you for everything.”
Jimmy Hood will take office as the new District 3 School Board member in January.
