MSHAA division 2A to see changes in 2013

The Eupora Eagles and East Webster Wolverines will see new division opponents in the upcoming 2013 season.

The Mississippi High School Activities Association released the new regions for 2013-15 on Friday, Nov. 30.

Although both the Eagles and Wolverines were not placed into a new division, Class 2A Region 2 will look much different in 2013. While the Ackerman Indians will stay in Region 2-2A, Calhoun City and Bruce are returning to Region 2. Okolona will also join making Region 2 one of the toughest Class 2A regions with all six teams postseason worthy. District games in the 2013 will display stout competition, as every team in Region 2 is known for their winning tradition.

Some questions remain as to what will happen if the Department of Justice makes the call to consolidate Ackerman and Weir this January, which should put the combined schools in Class 3A.
