The Controllers Generation II 4-H Club, in conjunction with Pleasant Hill U.M. Church and other area churches, celebrated “Praises in Pink,” a breast cancer awareness program, on Oct. 15 at West Oktibbeha County High School.
The program began with prayer by Harvey Jones, Maben Board of Aldermen member. Eileen Carr-Tabb, Mississippi State Department Of Health District IV health educator, was the guest speaker.
The Controllers honored Erline Foy, a breast cancer survivor. Latonya Robinson, former firefighter, also gave tips and fire safety manuals in honor of Fire Prevention Month. Happies were made for the Choctaw County Nursing Home. The Tobacco Coalition coloring contest winner for the month was Aleah Graham.
