TSX Voting Machine Testing Circuit Clerk Deborah Hood Neal announces that the testing of the TSX (Touch Screen Voting) machines is being conducted at the Webster County Courthouse Nov. 1 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. If any error is detected, the cause will be determined and corrected until an errorless count is made and certified. The public may attend and witness the testing.

Quick Bites Upcoming Quick Bites programs, which will be from noon-1 p.m., include: • Nov. 1, Lynette McDougald, MSU university florist, will present the program “At the Table: Centerpieces.” The focus this month will be “at the table” and more specifically centerpieces one can create for family gatherings at Thanksgiving.

in Houlka Nov. 3 A benefit for Jimbo Byars, longtime coach and teacher at Houlka High School, will be Nov. 3 beginning with a 5K run/walk at 8 a.m., registration at 7:30 a.m., $20 fee.
Alumni baseball/softball games begin at 1 p.m. in the Houlka park with $20 fee including T-shirt, $10 without T-shirt or $5 for 5K participants.
Inflatables for children will be available all day with a $5 wristband. Pulled pork and hot dog plates available at the Community center and auction will follow at 6 p.m.

Absentee voting The Webster County circuit clerk’s office in Walthall will be open from Nov. 3 from 8 a.m.-noon for absentee voting. This is the last day an individual will be able to vote an absentee ballot.

Concert at May’s Corn Maze May’s Corn Maze will present a concert Nov. 3 starting at 6 p.m. Performing will be Katie Leach, Jessica and Nathan May, Garrett Oswalt with Adam Suber, Jake Crow, Ben May and Justin Boatman, plus Don Pounds and others.

Blood drive United Blood Services will conduct a blood drive at Eupora High School on Nov. 5. The bloodmobile will be at EHS from 8:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m.
Sewing programs A miniseries of sewing programs by Reba Bland of MSU Extension will be Nov. 7 and 14 at the Webster County Extension Office from 10 a.m.-3 pm.
These programs will equip participants with the tools necessary to complete any sewing project. They will learn the basics of sewing and how to sew on their machine. In addition they will learn by doing; all participants will complete a sewing project.

Catch-A-Dream Banquet Mississippi Sportsmen for Catch-A-Dream Annual Sponsors Banquet will be Nov. 20 at the Eupora National Guard armory. Doors open at 6 p.m.
The banquet will feature a seafood buffet dinner, raffle and auction. All proceeds will benefit the Catch-A-Dream Foundation.
Sponsor dinner tickets are $150 and child dinner tickets are $15 (ages 15 and under). All tickets are first come, first serve.

Maben Methodist Maben Methodist Church, 3999 Webster Street, will have a churchwide rummage sale Nov. 3 beginning at 8 a.m.
Items for sale will be on display in the church fellowship hall and outside.

Community Thanksgiving Service First Baptist Church Eupora will host the 2012 Community Thanksgiving Service at 6 p.m. Nov. 18 in the FBC sanctuary.
The Rev. Trey Harper of Eupora’s First United Methodist Church will be the guest speaker and special music from the choir of both churches will perform. The worship service is open to the entire community.
