By Jane Collins, Manager Maben Farmers’ Market

MABEN — The Maben Farmers’ Market is alive and well on Saturdays from 8 until 11 a.m.

The Maben Chamber of Commerce-sponsored Farmers’ Market is the scene of sales from area vendors and sales of chamber chances on the Browning A-Bolt Composite Stalker .243, .270 or .30-06 rifle.

The chances cost $2 for one ticket or $5 for three tickets. The drawing will be Nov. 17 at 10 a.m. at the Maben Farmers’ Market. Tickets are on sale not only at the market, but also at Dew’s Place, Joe’s Tire and Service or any Maben Chamber member.

Vanessa Fulgham of Mathiston was selling Fulgham Pork Rinds again last week. Special orders are available from the Fulghams by calling 263-5152.

Heather Forster, representing Sweetgum Whimsies and Wood gift shop, gourd art and furniture business on Mantee Road, was there selling bracelets, earrings and other interesting items. Andy and Barbara McCants own the business with Heather, and can be contacted at 258-2193.

William Shaw was there as usual with his huge bunches of turnip and mustard greens. He also had kale, tomatoes, sweet potatoes and fresh peanuts. His grandson, Tucker, was also selling paracord bracelets and key rings.

Shaw Farms has promised to be at the market every Saturday throughout the market season. Shaw is managing the market until closing day the Saturday before Thanksgiving.

There is no cost to vendors in October or November. If you are interested in setting up as a vendor please check in with Mr. Shaw and bring your own table, chair, sign and set up free on the lot.
