Tiger Scouts from the local Webster County Cub Scouts toured The Webster Progress-Times on Sept. 25.
These scouts learned about many processes in the publishing of this newspaper. News Editor Russell Hood took time to talk with the scouts about his role in gathering and reporting the Webster County news.
In explaining the production and printing process, he said that after each week’s newspapers are printed in Greenville, they are then distributed to homes and local stores in Webster County.
The scouts were given the opportunity to view bound volumes. Each volume is a large book that contains all Webster Progress-Times for a calendar year. These volumes contain newspapers dating back for 90 years.
Each Tiger Scout received a current copy of The Webster Progress- Times to take home with them.
