Linda Joyce Black Sept. 17, 2012 Services for Linda Joyce Black, 63, were Sept. 19, 2012, at Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Ackerman with the Revs. Jerry Lawson and Ray Latham officiating. Burial was in Enon Cemetery.

She was born Jan. 2, 1929, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Black was a retired schoolteacher and member of Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She died Sept. 17, 2012, at her residence in Ackerman.

Survivors include her husband, Frank Black of Ackerman; a son, Brandon Black of Ackerman; two daughters, Lacee Black of Ackerman and Vicki Williams of Franklin, Tenn.; a brother, David McKnight of Tampa, Fla.; two sisters, Merlin Smith of Porter, Texas, and Sharon Stevens of Ackerman; and three grandchildren.

Memorials may be made to Enon Cumberland Presbyterian Church, P.O. Box 294, Ackerman, MS 39735-0294. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Minnie Bell Blake Sept. 20, 2012 Services for Minnie Bell Blake, 74, of Ackerman were Sept. 22, 2012, at Center Grove Baptist Church with the Revs. Joel Hudson and Eddie Dodd officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born Oct. 5, 1937, in Webster County. Mrs. Blake was a factory worker and member of Center Grove Baptist Church. She died Sept. 20, 2012, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Choctaw County.

Survivors include her husband, Joe Ray Blake of Ackerman; two daughters, Jerry Jackson of Ackerman and Jo Ann King of Water Valley; two sisters, Louise Cooper of Eupora and Addie Shepperd of Mathiston; five grandsons and one great-grandson.

Memorials may be made to the Center Grove Baptist Church Cemetery Fund. Coleman Funeral Home of Ackerman was in charge of arrangements.

Calvin (Monk) Williams Wright

Calvin (Monk) William Wright, age 87, passed away at his residence in Eupora on September 21. Prior to retirement Mr. Wright was a Mill Right Welder for Material Service. He served in the U.S. Air Cor during WWII and was a member of Alcoholics Anonymous for 45 years. His funeral service was Monday, September 24 at 10 a.m. at the Starkville Church of God. Visitation was Sunday, September 23 from 5-7 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville. Burial was in the Fame Church of God Cemetery, Eupora, MS. Reverend Hank Anderson officiated.

Mr. Wright was survived by his wife of 70 years, Doris Parrish Wright of Starkville; 5 sons, Calvin Wright and his wife, Terri of Kankakee, IL, Finis Wright and his wife, Carol of Eupora, Bill Lamb and his wife, Karen of Ackerman, Dee LaFine and his wife, Marcia of Maumee, Ohio and Jim Dupuis and his wife, Sherrie of Hillsdale, Michigan; 1 daughter, Connie Seidler and her husband, Steve of Owatonna, Minnesota; 1 sister, Mary Lou Meyercheck of Gulfport, MS; 5 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lou Guy Wright and Nancy Earl Sadie (Grace Edwards); 2 sisters, Amelia Davis and Danny Odom.

Mrs. Blanche Doler Allen Eupora, MS

Mrs. Blanche Doler Allen, 94, retired homemaker, died September 17, 2012 at North MS Medical Center Long Term Care Unit in Eupora. Funeral services were held 3:00 PM Saturday September 22nd at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel, Rev. Willy Weddle and Rev. John Doler officiating, with burial in the Old Bethany Cemetery in Webster County.

Pallbearers were Sid allen, Terry Allen, Chad Andrews, Byron Middleton, Hal Middleton, David Nail, James Nail, Howard Rumore and David Shipp. Mrs. Allen was a member of the New Hope Baptist Church in Webster County. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Stamps Allen; two brothers, James W. Doler and Henry Cecil Doler; two sisters, Celia Ruth Mawk and Dorothy Lacey; two daughters-in-law, Patricia Denton and Mary Nell Allen.

She is survived by two daughters, Cecelia Allen (Harold) Middleton, Benton, MS and Betty Allen (Bert) Nail, Starkville, MS; two sons, William W. (Elsie) Allen, Jacksonville, NC, and Sidney Clayton (Linda) Allen, Eupora, MS; a sister, Robbie Watson, Houston, MS; and a sister-in-law, Neva Doler, Eupora, MS; nine grandchildren; twenty one great grandchildren; and three great great grandchildren
