MABEN — Maben Methodist Church will be having a three-night revival starting Oct. 7.
The revival will begin that Sunday at 5 p.m. with a covered-dish supper in the Don Scrivener Fellowship Hall following worship services at 6 p.m.
On Monday, and Tuesday, the services will begin at 7 p.m. with the Rev Prentiss Gordon Jr. as the preacher.
Gordon is no stranger to the area, as he is the son of the Rev. Prentiss Gordon Sr. and the late Mary Lee Gordon of Starkville. He is married to Sandra Saye from Starkville, and they are the parents of two children and four grandchildren.
Gordon is now serving his 46th year in the ministry. He is pastor of Corinth United Methodist Church, and has served as pastor of Weir, Weir-Salem, Columbus Central and Aldersgate United Methodist churches in Starkville, and many more, including Clinton First United Methodist.
The Rev. Scarlet Shepperd, pastor of the Maben church, and the members invite the public to come and enjoy this revival, good special music and the preaching by the Rev. Gordon.
