No tax increase is proposed for city residents in the next fiscal year, which begins Oct. 1.

The Eupora Board of Aldermen will have a special called meeting at 5:30 p.m. today to adopt a tax millage resolution and the FY 2013 budget. The board plans to set the city millage rate at 24, which is the same as the current fiscal year.

That millage rate will produce the same amount of revenue from ad valorem taxes for the city as was collected this fiscal year, according to the published notice of a budget hearing conducted Aug. 27. City Clerk Lesa Hardin said no public comment was offered at the hearing.

Aldermen had a budget work session immediately following a special called meeting on Aug. 13. The final budget must be approved by Saturday.

Today’s meeting will also include an audit presentation.
