Project Fit America at EES Students and teachers at Eupora Elementary School will officially kick off the Project Fit American program at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 21.

Pickin’ at the Lake The 11th annual “Pickin’ at the Lake” will be Sept. 21 starting at 2 p.m. and Sept. 22 starting at 10 a.m. at the Grenada Lake spillway.
Bluegrass, gospel and old-time country/western music will be featured; acoustic instruments only. Pickers and listeners are welcome; admission is free — no alcoholic beverages. Crossroads Cruisers car club will provide concessions and proceeds will be used for local charity.

Little Miss, Mr. Clay Co. Pageant The Little Miss and Mr. Clay County Pageant in honor of the late Doug and Petty Childs (his father) will be at 5 p.m. Oct. 20 at the West Point Civic Center. A $500 scholarship will be awarded to the winner of the 16-18 age group. Doug Childs was from Maben.
The pageant is open to boys and girls through age 18; they do not have to be residents of Clay County.
