Timberwolves on a roll

From staff and press reports

The West Oktibbeha Timberwolves are gearing up to travel to Eupora to take on the Class 2A Eagles.

The Timberwolves are coming off two big wins.

On Aug. 17, the Timberwolves defeated S.V. Marshall 66-6 in an offensive explosion.

Quarterback Von Smith scored six passing touchdowns for the Timberwolves during the game.

West Oktibbeha runs a spread offense, which goes as the quarterback goes. And that was not a problem for the Timberwolves as they defeated Montgomery County Aug. 24, 56-6.

They continued their offensive ways and collected a big victory over the Hornets.

Smith had five passing touchdowns, Lavante Tate had two receiving touchdowns, and Kelsey Jefferson caught one score. Running back Tiberias Lampkin had two scores.

After an open week, the Timberwolves (2-0) will face the Eagles (3-0) who recently defeated Winona 22-13.

Kickoff will be tonight in Eupora at 7:30 p.m.
