Stidham retires after 36 years in education

The first director of the Webster County Career and Technology Center has retired after 36 years in education.

Jamie Stidham became director of the WCCTC in 1975 and served until 1980. That year he joined G.M. Stidham of Stidham and Sons Construction until 1983. He then became principal and coach at Chickasaw Academy until 1987.

Stidham came to Starkville in 1987 as director of Millsaps Career and Technology Center. He retiring Aug. 31 after 25 years at Millsaps for a total of 30 years as a director and a total of 36 years in education.

Stidham became the youngest director in the state at age 26 and continued to become the longest-tenured director in the state with 30 years as a director.

After his retirement he plans to drive a new tractor that his wife, Linda, bought him and spend time with his seven grandchildren.
