Shirt sale benefits Civic League

From Press Reports

The Civic League of Mathiston is conducting a T-shirt sale fund-raiser.

The shirt will be royal blue and the design located on the back of the shirt is lime green, yellow and orange. Sizes available are youth through adult 5X. Youth sizes are $10 and adult sizes are $12.

The shirt was an idea by Tabitha Fulgham wanting to encourage people in the community to express pride in the great town of Mathiston. The shirt has a theme that comes from the country song “My Town” by Montgomery Gentry.

Betty Jeffcoats, all of the wonderful ladies of Civic League of Mathiston and Southern Belle made it a reality. The league came together earlier this month and decided on the final touches. The shirt also expresses members’ faith, their love for family and fun.

The Civic League of Mathiston will meet Sept. 4 at 6:30 p.m. in the Mathiston Public Library to discuss community events such as the Sept. 15 softball tournament for all of the guys. Entry fee is $100 per team. Trophies for first, second and third places will be given.

Another event being discussed is the town beauty pageant on Oct. 13 at Bennett Auditorium on East Webster High School’s Wood College campus.

“Hope you’ll support your Civic League,” members stated. “Let’s make Mathiston a great place to be!”

Remember the Civic League of Mathiston’s motto: “Some people want it to happen, some wish it to happen, others make it happen.”

One may purchase a shirt by calling Fulgham at 263.5152 or Jeffcoats at 612.8724. Deadline to order is Sept 7.
