Blood drive United Blood Services will conduct a blood drive at East Webster High School in Mathiston on Aug. 28. The bloodmobile will be at the school from 8:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m.
Cub Scout registration Cub Scout registration will be Aug. 28 at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora starting at 5:30 p.m. for boys in grades 1-5. Refreshments will be served at registration.

WeCAN workshop The Webster County Action Network will meet Aug. 28 at 6:30 p.m. at the Mathiston Public Library.
Amanda White of Healing Notes LLC in Starkville will present a workshop titled “The POWER of Music.” Music therapy is an established health profession in which music is used as a therapeutic tool to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals.
Music therapy is considered a related service under the Individuals with Disabilities Act. When music therapy is deemed necessary to assist a child benefit from his/her special education, goals are documented on the Individualized Education Program as a related service intervention.
WeCAN is a network for parents of children with disabilities in Webster County that can support, educate and empower one another through advocacy, education and information. All parents of Webster County as well as surrounding counties may attend.

‘Rural Community Meeting’ in Maben A “Rural Community Meeting” with Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley will be Aug. 30 in Maben at the First Baptist Church gymnasium from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
Presley will update the public on current issues before the PSC and other consumer-related topics that affect Mississippians and its economic climate.
Boston butt sale Eupora Masonic Lodge #423 members are selling tickets for Boston butts that will be ready to pick up at the lodge building on Aug. 31 from 3-5 p.m. just in time for the Labor Day weekend.

Greenlee reunion Greenlee family members will come together once again at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora on Sept. 1. The reunion starts at 11 a.m. Attendees are asked to bring a dish of food and may bring what was brought the year before or pay $5 on what is needed. Mathiston Civic
League shirt sale The Civic League of Mathiston is conducting a T-shirt sale fund-raiser. The shirt will be royal blue and the design located on the back of the shirt is lime green, yellow and orange. Sizes available are youth through adult 5X. Youth sizes are $10 and adult sizes are $12.
The Southern Belle shirt has a theme that comes from the country song “My Town” by Montgomery Gentry. It also expresses members’ faith, their love for family and fun.
