Outwalk Obesity The Controllers Generation II 4-H Club in conjunction with Pleasant Hill U.M. Church and other area churches will host their “Outwalk Obesity” on Aug. 20. It will begin at Larry’s Restaurant at 6 p.m. and conclude at West Oktibbeha County High School.
Following the walk, they will conduct a “Healthy, Wealthy and Wise” workshop. It will be led by Julie White, Oktibbeha County Extension director. Minister Franco Shields will lead the workshop with the youth, “Violence is Preventable.” Blood drive
at EFUMC United Blood Services will conduct a blood drive at Eupora First United Methodist Church on Aug. 21 from 2-7 p.m. in the fellowship hall. Every three secon ds someone needs blood in this country — the overwhelming majority would die without it. Giving blood is one of the most important things a person can do. Mobile WIN Job Center The Mobile WIN Job Center will set up shop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Aug. 23 at the former Garan factory on Highway 9 South in Eupora.
The mobile units are valuable tools for job searches, creating and updating resumes, and other services.

Lee Ann Williamson, Christian World Missions, will use the potter’s wheel to illustrate not only how to make pottery but also in what ways the techniques apply to how we are shaped throughout life. Cub Scout registration Cub Scout registration will be Aug. 28 at the Woodmen of the World lodge in Eupora starting at 5:30 p.m. for boys in grades 1-5. Refreshments will be served at registration.

Amanda White of Healing Notes LLC in Starkville will present a workshop titled “The POWER of Music.” Music therapy is an established health profession in which music is used as a therapeutic tool to address physical, emotional, cognitive and social needs of individuals.
Music therapy is considered a related service under the Individuals with Disabilities Act. When music therapy is deemed necessary to assist a child benefit from his/her special education, goals are documented on the Individualized Education Program as a related service intervention.
WeCAN is a network for parents of children with disabilities in Webster County that can support, educate and empower one another through advocacy, education and information.
