Local men arrested in baler theft

Two local men have been charged with stealing a hay baler in Clay County, according to published reports.

Kenneth Johnson, 39, of Mathiston and Johnathan Clinton Hill, 28, of Maben were arrested July 25 as the result of a joint investigation conducted by the Clay County Sheriff’s Department, the Mississippi Agricultural Theft Bureau and the Choctaw Sheriff’s Department The individuals were charged with grand larceny in connection with the theft of a hay baler on Highway 47 in Clay County, the Daily Times Leader of West Point reported last week.

Johnson is charged with one count of grand larceny and Hill is charged with two counts. Both were incarcerated at the Clay County Jail as of Friday waiting an initial arraignment in Clay County Justice Court, the newspaper reported.
