Webster County contestant aims for Miss Hospitality title

From Staff Reports

Mississippi Miss Hospitality Pageant week is under way and Karlee Stewart is now in Hattiesburg representing Webster County.

Pre-pageant events began Sunday, and pageant nights are Friday and Saturday at the Saenger Theater. Stewart, who was selected in April to serve Webster County as Miss Hospitality, is competing against 34 other participants at the pageant, which is celebrating its 63rd year.

Whoever is crowned Mississippi Miss Hospitality 2012 will travel the state and country promoting tourism, industry and economic development. She will also serve as Mississippi’s “Goodwill Ambassador” for a year.

Stewart modeled her pageant outfits during a trunk show at the Eupora Depot on July 19. She also previewed her 20-second commercial about Webster County that she will perform as a pageant contestant. Stewart thanked all who came out to support her.

The Mississippi State University sophomore is the daughter of Charles and Linda Stewart of Walthall, and granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Charles Stewart of Walthall and the late Mr. and Mrs. Sammy Wells of Tomnolen.
