Boil-water alert lifted

The Mississippi State Department of Health has lifted a boil-water alert for customers who receive their drinking water from the Savannah Water Association #1 water supply in Webster County.

Water sampling had shown the presence of total coliform bacteria in a preponderance of samples when the alert was enacted July 12.

The association was released from the boil-water alert on July 18 and water from this system is now safe to drink.
