NMMC-Eupora has announced that Shiloh Quintana, registered dietitian, has joined the Food and Nutrition staff.
Quintana is no stranger to the hospital, as she conducted her field experience as a Mississippi State University student at the hospital in 2010.
In 2011, one of her clinical rotations as a dietetic intern with the MSU program included time spent at NMMC-Eupora. Her interaction with patients, residents and professional peers made a lasting impression on all who worked with her during that time, Quintana said.
Quintana earned a bachelor’s degree in food science, nutrition and health promotion from Mississippi State, where she was regularly on the Dean’s List and a member of Phi Kappi Phi honor society.
In 2009, she served an internship with the Mississippi Beef Council, where she promoted the services provided by the council to cattle farmers throughout the state. During that time she represented Mississippi at the National Cattleman’s Beef Board Annual Meeting in Denver.
She has completed the MSU Dietetic Internship program as a post- graduate student. Quintana holds the distinction of being selected the Outstanding Dietetic Intern for the state of Mississippi in 2012. The field of nominees for this honor included students from the University of Mississippi, MSU, the University of Southern Mississippi and Delta State University.
Quintana is a graduate student at MSU in the Department of Food Science, Nutrition and Health Promotion.
