Library Friends enjoy writer’s program

By Fran Smith, Librarian Webster County Public Library

Tony Kinton was the guest speaker for the July 9 meeting of Friends of the Library at the Webster County Public Library.

He discussed his interest in history and its influence on his writing of novels. Kinton read excerpts from his latest novel, “Summer Lightning, Distant Thunder.”

Those in attendance thoroughly enjoyed his presentation and wanted to know more about the characters. Kinton shared with the audience his collection of period clothing and artifacts.

After a question-and-answer session, everyone enjoyed lunch.

Join Friends at 11:30 a.m. Aug. 13 for the next meeting with Opal Vickers as the speaker.
