Reform VFD fundraiser Reform Volunteer Fire Department will have a fundraiser on June 30 from 10 a.m.-until to help raise funds for new equipment.
The VFD will be selling hamburger and hot dog plates that include chips and a drink. Pre-order your “Supporter of Reform Fire Department” T-shirt for $15.
Reform VFD is located at 142 Plainermill Road, just off of Highway 15 North in the Reform community of Choctaw County.
Vaughan Reunion The family and friends of Joe and Nora Vaughan will have a reunion July 1 at the Woodmen of the World lodge east of Eupora.
The cookoff will feature two winners this year, entrée and dessert. All the wonderful cooks in the family will want to participate. There will be door prizes, videogames for the youth, arts and crafts for the children, a time of reminiscing and fantastic food.
Bryon Cooper Family Reunion The Riley L. Bryon Cooper Family Reunion will be held again this year at Dorroh Lake off Highway 9 north of Bellefontaine on July 7 from 9 a.m. until.

Benefit for Patsy Power A benefit for Patsy Power will be July 7 at the Stewart Fire Department. Barbecue, hamburger and hot dog plates will be available starting at 4 p.m. that include baked beans, slaw or chips, dessert and drink.
An auction will be at 5 p.m., and a cake and toy walk will be at 6 p.m. Chances are being sold on $100.
AARP driver safety program An AARP driver safety class is being offered especially for retired educators during July and August for just $5, a savings of up to $9 off the normal fee.
Also, Mississippi law requires all vehicle insurance carriers to offer a discount on premiums to qualified graduates aged 55 and older of approved courses such as the AARP Driver Safety Program.
The half-day course is a classroom driver refresher course for drivers aged 50 and older. However, drivers of any age may attend. The course explains the changes that occur in the aging process and tips for handling these changes. It also serves as a refresher for general driving rules and conditions, and provides an update on driving laws.
A class is scheduled at the Webster County Extension Office at 16 E. Fox Ave. in Eupora on July 9. The class will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Course materials cost is $12 for AARP members (must have card) and $14 for non-members. Retired educators and school personnel, $5.

‘Rural Community Meeting’ July 17 A “Rural Community Meeting” with Public Service Commissioner Brandon Presley will be July 17 at Wood College Bennett Hall Auditorium in Mathiston from 5:30-6:30 p.m.
In addition to updating the public on current issues before the PSC, Presley plans to discuss his “Ratepayers’ Bill of Rights”; updates on ‘Zap the Gap’; PSC satellite offices and financial assistance programs available to low-income ratepayers. He will also discuss updates on the No Call Law and other consumer-related topics that affect Mississippians and its economic climate.
Nutrition programs ADULT nutrition education classes, perfect for newly marrieds or new parents, or anyone wanting to brush up on cooking skills and current nutrition topics, are upcoming.
Dates of programs are July 24, 25 and 26 from 10 a.m.-noon at the Webster County Extension Office. Deadline for signup is July 19.
