Laci Knight has been named the new principal of her alma mater, Eupora High School.
The Webster County School Board approved her hiring June 5 and she begins the new job July 1. She replaces Lundy Brantley, who resigned after two years to take the principal’s position at Pearl High School.
“Eupora High School is a very special place to me,” Knight said. “I want to continue its legacy of pride, tradition and excellence.”
She served as assistant principal at EHS this past school year and taught social studies. Knight has been at Eupora High for 10 years, and before that taught physical education at Eupora Elementary School for five years.
A 1993 graduate of Eupora High, she was also chosen Miss EHS her senior year. Knight went on to attend Mississippi State University, where she received a bachelor’s degree in physical education, and a master’s in PE and educational leadership.
Knight and her husband, Matt, have two sons, Tanner and Parker. They live in Bellefontaine and are members of Eupora First Baptist Church. The new principal is the daughter of Bobby and Sherry Johnson of Eupora.
