WIN Job Center The Mobile WIN Job Center will set up shop from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. June 21 at the former Garan factory on Highway 9 South in Eupora.

Gore Reunion The 32nd annual Gore Family Reunion will be June 23 at the Springhill Schoolhouse located on Highway 404.

Registration, including review of family memorabilia and genealogy, will begin at 10 a.m. Please bring any pictures and information you would like to display and share. Lunch will be served at noon; the cost is $10.

After lunch a genealogy presentation of the Gore family history will be by Keith Wiseman, grandson of Will Abe “Red” Gore of Walthall.

Ezekiel Fletcher Gore, ancestor of many of the Gores, was the Methodist pastor of Greensboro from 1865 to1869. Everyone is invited to this reunion.

STP meeting Starkville Tea Party supporters and other concerned citizens are encouraged to attend the monthly STP meeting from 3-4:30 p.m. June 23.

The main speaker will be Grant Sowell, Tupelo TEA Party organizer, who worked to help to defeat efforts to recall Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker.

The meeting will be at Fellowship Baptist Church, 1491 Frye Road. Refreshments will be served.

Middleton Reunion A Middleton-Shewmake reunion will be June 24 at the Winona Community House on Sterling Street at 11 a.m. It is for all Middleton descendents. For more information call Shirley at 283-5746.

Online Couponing An Online Couponing Session by Dale Jordon of MSU Extension will be at 5:15 p.m. June 25 at the Webster County Extension Office.

This program will help people change the way they shop. With the cost of living going up it is important to find ways to save money. “Couponing” is a great way to get more bang for your buck.

This free program will teach people where to find and print coupons by using their computer. They will also learn how to use their smartphone to save money. Call the Webster County Extension Office at 258-3971 by June 21 to register.

Maben Library Reading Program Maben Public Library’s Summer Reading Program is “Dream Big, Own the Night.”

Art teacher Lisa Hester will present the final program at 10 a.m. June 26.

County Library Reading Program Webster County Library is hosting a Summer Reading Program with the theme “DreamBig! READ.” The final program, “Wishes,” begins at 1:30 p.m. June 26 with Heather Harper and Julia Stephenson

Webster County Action Network The Webster County Action Network will have its first meeting June 26 at the Mathiston Public Library from 6-7:30 p.m.

A workshop will be held titled “Effective Advocacy Skills for Parents” presented by Leslie Junkin of the Mississippi Parent Training and Information center.

WeCAN is a network for parents of children with disabilities in Webster County that can support, educate and empower one another through advocacy, education and information. All parents of Webster County as well as surrounding counties are welcome to attend.

Reform VFD fundraiser Reform Volunteer Fire Department will have a fundraiser on June 30 from 10 a.m.-until to help raise funds for new equipment.

The VFD will be selling hamburger and hot dog plates that include chips and a drink. Pre-order your “Supporter of Reform Fire Department” T-shirt for $15.

Reform VFD is located at 142 Plainermill Road, just off of Highway 15 North in the Reform community of Choctaw County.

Vaughan Reunion The family and friends of Joe and Nora Vaughan will have a reunion July 1 at the Woodmen of the World lodge east of Eupora.

The cookoff will feature two winners this year, entrée and dessert. All the wonderful cooks in the family will want to participate. There will be door prizes, videogames for the youth, arts and crafts for the children, a time of reminiscing and fantastic food.

Bryon Cooper Family Reunion The Riley L. Bryon Cooper Family Reunion will be held again this year at Dorroh Lake off Highway 9 north of Bellefontaine on July 7 from 9 a.m. until.

Family and friends are invited to attend. Bring a main dish or dessert. The reunion area is air-conditioned and the pool will be open. A family history computer and copier will be on site, so bring family pictures, etc. Call 552-9737 or 552-0402 for more information.

Benefit for Patsy Power A benefit for Patsy Power will be July 7 at the Stewart Fire Department. Barbecue, hamburger and hot dog plates will be available starting at 4 p.m. that include baked beans, slaw or chips, dessert and drink.

An auction will be at 5 p.m., and a cake and toy walk will be at 6 p.m. Chances are being sold on $100.

Head Start recruitment An active recruitment campaign for 2012-13 is under way at the Eupora Head Start Center. Families on the Head Start waiting list or families with age-eligible children (age 3 on or before Sept. 1) may call 283-2227 for information.

EHS Class of ’62 Plans are being made for the 50th reunion of the Eupora High Class of ’62, which will be Oct. 5 and 6. Each classmate will be notified with specific details later in the summer. Any addresses (postal or e-mail) or phone numbers one may have of former classmates will be appreciated.

AA meetings Alcoholics Anonymous meets Wednesdays from 7:30-8:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 5-6 p.m. at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora in the Education Conference Room.

Bingo at VFW Bingo is every Saturday at 6 p.m. at VFW Post 3806 in Eupora.

Longview Opry Enjoy music, refreshments and fun at the Longview Opry on Highway 12 in Longview every Saturday at 7 p.m. Talent is welcome. Admission is free.

Church News Piney Jordan Piney Jordan First United Methodist Church, Eupora, will have its annual Men’s Day program June 24. The program will take place immediately following the morning service. Refreshments will be served.

Pleasant Hill The Rev. Billy Earl Robinson and the Pleasant Hill Church family of Kilmichael invite the public to their Father’s Day program on June 24 at 11:30 a.m. Pastor Robinson will bring the message.

• Church Anniversary: Pleasant Hill Church will celebrate its 117th anniversary at 3 p.m. July 8. The theme will be “Having Done All, Stand!” The Rev. James Forrest, the messenger, and the Binford Chapel male choir will be special guests. Lunch will be served.

Bluff Springs Baptist (Choctaw) Bluff Springs Baptist Church in Choctaw County and Pastor Kevin Black invite the public to worship with them in revival July 8-11. The visiting speaker will be the Rev. Jim Rhodes, pastor of Clear Springs Baptist Church.

Dorroh Lake Baptist Assembly Dorroh Lake Baptist Assembly announces dates for its remaining summer camps:

• Girls Camp (ages 7-12): July 16-19; Director: Ashley Pounds

Cost for either girls camps is $125 if registration/payment is received by July 1.

Music workshop Ackerman Church of God will be hosting a music workshop, “Ignite,” on July 28 from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. This workshop will “spark your passion and ignite your church.” It is open to all participants of church music and media departments.

Topics and sessions will include vocal techniques, maximizing the volume of your choir and praise teams, praise bands and musicians, worship from a pastor’s perspective, the worship-leading choir, and sound and media in small to medium churches.

The cost is $10/person if one pre-registers before June 29, or one may pay $15/person at the door the day of the conference. A lunch is provided in the cost.
