Eddie Dean Keeton May 20, 2012 Memorial services for Eddie Dean Keeton, 64, of Ackerman are incomplete. He was born Jan. 29, 1948. Mr. Keeton, who was disabled, died May 20, 2012, in Winston County. Survivors include two sons, Mark Keeton of Ackerman and Michael Keeton of Las Vegas; two grandchildren; and numerous brothers and sisters. Thamar N. ‘T.N.’ Lollar May 22, 2012 Services for Thamar N. “T.N.” Lollar, 98, of Weir were May 25, 2012, at Huntsville Church of Christ in Montgomery County with the Revs. Dan Beardain and Nathan Wright officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born June 27, 1913, in Choctaw County. Mr. Lollar was a retired mechanic and served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. He was a member of Huntsville Church of Christ. Mr. Lollar died May 22, 2012, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. Survivors include a son, Dwight Lollar of Winona; a brother, L.C. Lewis Saylors May 17, 2012 Services for Lewis Saylors, 76, of Eupora were May 22, 2012, at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel in Eupora with the Revs. Wade Stevens and Jamie Brown officiating. He was born June 25, 1935, in Maysville, Okla. Mr. Saylors was an automobile body shop technician. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Mathiston. He died, May 17, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Eupora. Survivors include his wife, Devota “Dee” Saylors of Eupora; two sons, Lewis Brock Saylors Jr. of Hendrix, Okla., and Guy Monroe Saylors of Ward, Ark.; five sisters, Ruth Griffin of Tuttle, Okla., Katherine Ellithorp of Lindsay, Okla., Lolitta Ross of Florida, Judy Norton of Mustang, Okla., and Barbara Taylor of Waurka, Okla.; and three grandchildren.

Mr. Warren Jackson Easley, 56, passed away Sunday, May 20, 2012 at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS. Visitation was Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home. Funeral services were Wednesday, May 23, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Willy Weddle, Rev. Stanley Dorroh and Rev. William Carpenter officiating. Interment was at Milligan Springs Cemetery at Montgomery County. Mr. Easley was a retired factory worker, and a member of Lollars Grove Baptist Church at Webster County. He was preceded in death by a twin brother, Walter Jeffrey Easley. Survivors include 2 sisters, Waudine Easley, Mobile, AL, and Wanda Golden, Southaven, MS; and 3 brothers, Wendell Easley, Plantersville, MS, Wayne (Claire) Easley, West Columbia, SC, and Willard (Peggy) Easley, Mathiston, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Dorrye Wayne Shelby, 74, resident of Hattiesburg and Eupora, MS, passed away Thursday, May 24, 2012 at his residence in Hattiesburg, MS. Visitation was Saturday, May 26, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home. Funeral services were held Sunday, May 27, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at the Oliver Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Travis Gray officiating. Interment was at New Providence Cemetery at Calhoun County. Mr. Shelby was a Salesman at Wonder Bread Inc., and a member of First Baptist Church, Eupora, MS. Mr. Shelby was preceded in death by his wife Aline Shelby; and his parents, Dorris Marie and Earl Wesley Shelby. Survivors include 2 daughters, Deborah Shelby (Mike) Dees, Ridgeland, MS, and Laurie Shelby (Don) Elkins, Forrest, MS; 1 son, Michael Wayne (Faye) Shelby, Hattiesburg, MS; 1 brother, Glenn Earl (Betty) Shelby, Waynesboro, MS; 8 grandchildren, 14 great- grandchildren; children’s mother, Joan Batchelor Shelby, Eupora and Forest, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews. Flora Bettie Gammill Latham

Flora Bettie Gammill Latham, age 91, of Starkville, MS, passed away May 27, 2012, at Oktibbeha County Hospital. Funeral services were Monday, May 28, 2012, at 4:00 PM at Lebanon United Methodist Church of Eupora, MS. Visitation was one hour prior to the service and the interment immediately followed in the church cemetery. Gunter and Peel Funeral Home of Columbus, MS, was in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Latham was born December 20, 1920, in Reform, MS, to the late Rufus Lynch and Bertha Margaret Crowder Gammill. At an early age she was baptized at the Antioch Methodist Church where her family were prominent members. She had two sisters, Lucille Gammill Moncrief (deceased) and Geneva Gammill Oswalt, and a brother, Doyle Gammill (deceased). She was a 1939 graduate of Reform High School where she was valedictorian. She attended Draughns Business College in Jackson, MS. She began her business career in Ackerman, MS, working for the Chancery Clerk, Tax Assessor, Sheriff’s Office and Ration Board. For 13 years, she was the bookkeeper for Mathiston Motor Company. She was honored many times by Ford Motor Company for her perfect bookkeeping abilities. Flora married Thomas Albert Latham from Eupora, MS, on June 14, 1953. She joined his church, Lebanon Methodist Church, where she was a prominent member for the remainder of her life. She served as secretary and treasurer for many years at the church. She attended annual conference of the United Methodist Church for many years along side Albert. She began working with Agricultural Stabilization and Conservations Service in 1960 and did so until March 1985 when she retired. Flora was an active member of the Home Demonstration Club and the Daughters of the American Revolution, where she served as Regent. She also assisted in editing the Webster Country History book and has long been a genealogist for the Gammill, Cochran, Crowder and Miller families. Flora also was a talented seamstress, creating numerous garments for herself and her family. After her retirement, she pieced and quilted countless beautiful quilts. She also enjoyed painting with oils, particularly landscapes and flowers. Flora was noted for her wonderful cakes, which she created for weddings, anniversaries, and celebrations for friends in the community and beyond. In 2004, Flora and Albert moved to Trinity Place in Columbus, MS. They spend eight wonderful years there. Flora and Albert are survived by one child, Flora Lynette Latham McDougald. Lynette is marred to Reverend Ron McDougald. Lynette is on faculty at Mississippi State University where she teaches in the Department of Plant and Soil Sciences in Floriculture. She also manages the University Florist. Ron is the pastor at Shiloh United Methodist Church near Pelahatchie, MS. Flora is survived by three grandchildren, Rebecca and her fiance Tom Bennitt, of Oxford, MS, Rob of New Orleans, LA, and his friend Ariel Spengler, and Beth, and her partner Eric Cranford, of Starkville, MS.
