“A No. 2 pencil and a dream can take you anywhere.” — Joyce A. Myers By Dottie Dewberry For the WPT
MABEN — Margaret Mason knows the value of a No. 2pencil, and she knows that every child needs two of them when they begin taking the state tests each spring.
She is an answer to many children’s need as she arrived in April at West Oktibbeha County Schools with 600 pencils in hand. Principal Leonardo Thompson beamed from ear to ear as she came in bearing the load of pencils in the early spring to share with the student body.
Mrs. Mason says that her friends, family and members of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, plus herself, donated these pencils. Every little bit helps.
Mrs. Mason says that each year she has a goal in mind as she begins collecting school supplies or pencils for those in need.
The parents, students, faculty and administration of West Oktibbeha County High School salute you, Mrs. Margaret Mason.
