Grand jury returns 87 true bills

Webster County grand jurors recalled May 22 have submitted a report of their investigations.

The grand jurors, who were empaneled during the January term of Circuit Court, were in session one day last week. According to their report provided by the circuit clerk’s office, the grand jurors investigated 105 reported violations of the law and questioned 15 witnesses.

Afterwards, the grand jury returned into open court 87 true bills on 14 indictments. Its report shows that 17 matters were no-billed and one case was continued for further investigation.

Monica May was foreperson. The next term of Circuit Court begins June 18, when a new grand jury will be empaneled.
