Ann Carlisle May 15, 2012 Services for Ann Carlisle, 68, of Ackerman were May 18, 2012, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman. Burial was in Enon Cemetery.

She was born May 26, 1943, in Winston County to Virginia P. and the late Jack B. Carlisle. Mrs. Carlisle was a teacher and a member of the Catholic Church. She also served as an X-ray technician in the U.S. Army and in Winona after leaving the military. She died May 15, 2012, at Regency Hospital in Jackson.

Survivors include her mother, Virginia P. Carlisle of Ackerman; a brother, William T. “Billy” Carlisle of Ackerman; a sister, Jackie Evans of Blairsville, Ga.; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Kenneth F. Ford May 13, 2012 Services for Kenneth F. Ford, 74, were May 16, 2012, at Concord Baptist Church near Ackerman with the Revs. Roger Griffith and George Collins officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery. He was born May 13, 1938, in Oakland. Mr. Ford was a retired Ford Motor Co. employee and served in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Concord Baptist Church. Mr. Ford died May 13, 2012, at his residence near Ackerman.

Survivors include his wife, Linda King Ford of Ackerman; two sons, Dan Ford of Southaven and Irby Ford of Madison; a daughter, Loretta DuBose of La Place, La.; a brother, Charles Irby Ford of Hernando; a sister, Lois Raiford of Olive Branch; 10 grandchildren; five grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorials may be made to The Baptist Children’s Village or Concord Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Jimmie Kemp Mayo May 19, 2012 Services for Jimmie Kemp Mayo, 71, of McCool were May 18, 2012, at Harmony Baptist Church in McCool with the Rev. Terrel Mayo officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born Nov. 1, 1940, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Mayo was a material handler and member of Harmony Baptist Church. She died May 19, 2012, at Baptist Memorial Hospital-Memorial.

Survivors include two sons, Johnny Mayo of McCool and Mike Mayo of Ackerman; two daughters, Karen Bankston of Ethel and Donna McDaniel of McCool; two sisters, Emma Billingsley of Huntsville, Ala., and Alice Blackman of Weir; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

James Belton McCon May 4, 2012 Services for James Belton McCon, 95, were May 10, 2012, at Mount Union Missionary Baptist Church in Eupora with the Rev. Andrew Windrick officiating. Burial was in Churchill Cemetery. He died May 4, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center-Eupora.

Anna Beth Mills May 19, 2012 Services for Anna Beth Mills, 74, will be May 25, 2012 at 2 p.m. at Double Springs M.B. Church in Slate Springs. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The body will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until the hour of the service on Friday for visitation.

She died May 19, 2012, at her home in Bellefontaine.

Zachary Lucas Myers May 11, 2012 Services for Zachary Lucas Myers, 33, were May 17, 2012, at Bear Creek Baptist Church in Attala County with the Revs. Mark Mayo and Chet Ferguson officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

He was born Nov. 4, 1978, in Starkville. Mr. Myers was a self- employed construction worker and served in the U.S. Army Reserve as a combat engineer. He was a member of Bear Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Myer died May 11, 2012, at his residence near Weir.

Survivors include his mother, Brenda Lucas Myers of Weir; his father, Robert L. Myers Jr. of Weir; three daughters, Kaydence Myers and Laura Brooke Myers of French Camp, and Whitleigh Jo Myers of Ackerman; a brother, Robert L. Myers III of Mathiston; and his paternal grandmother, Grace Myers of Weir.

Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Cecil Shaw May 6, 2012 Services for Cecil Shaw, 86, of Eupora were May 9, 2012, at Household of Faith in Eupora with the Rev. Andrew Windrick officiating. Burial was in Churchill Cemetery.

He died May 6, 2012, at Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson. Survivors include a son, Sam Shaw; two stepsons, William Gill and Kenneth Gill; a daughter, Iesha Shaw; two sisters, Retha Harvey and Clara Harvey; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Margaret Jane Smith Weaver May 18, 2012 Services for Margaret Jane Smith Weaver, 92, of Ackerman were May 21, 2012, at Ackerman Methodist Church with burial in Enon Cemetery.

She was born in Choctaw County on July 14, 1919, to the late Hugh Reed and Clara Irving Smith. After graduation from Mississippi State University, she worked for the Mississippi Cooperative Extension Service, the ROTC Department and the U.S. Department of Wildlife on the MSU campus. Mrs. Weaver was a member of Ackerman Methodist Church, where she taught children’s and youth Sunday School and Bible School, and was a member of church boards and committees. She was an independent insurance agent in her late husband’s family business from 1953 until its sale in 1997. Mrs. Weaver died May 18, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.

Survivors include a son, Hugh Banks Weaver of Ackerman.

Memorials may be made to Ackerman Methodist Church, French Camp Academy or Palmer Home for Children.

Vivian Lois Weaver May 20, 2012 Services for Vivian Lois Weaver, 92, of Ackerman were May 22, 2012, at Coleman Funeral Home in Ackerman with the Rev. Bryan Carrubba officiating. Burial was in Antioch Cemetery.

She was born Oct. 28, 1919, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Weaver was a factory worker/homemaker and member of Ackerman United Methodist Church. She died May 20, 2012, at Choctaw County Nursing Home in Ackerman.

Survivors include a son, Maxie Weaver of Fayette, Ala.; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.

Memorials may be made to the Choctaw County Animal Shelter or Ackerman United Methodist Church.

Danni Louise Mitchell Weidert May 13, 2012 Services for Danni Louise Mitchell Weidert, 79, of Minot, N.D., were May 21, 2102, at Reeds Chapel Baptist Church with the Rev. Johnny Lollar officiating. Burial was in the church cemetery.

She was born Jan. 29, 1933, in Stewart. Mrs. Weidert was a homemaker. She died May 13, 2012, at Minot Hospital.

Survivors include her husband, William Weidert of Minot; a sister, Judy Upton of Stewart; a niece and a nephew.

Belva Mae Helm May 22, 2012

Services for Belva M. Helm, 86, of Eupora (formerly of Mathiston) will be held Saturday, May 26, at 2:00 p.m. at Oliver Funeral Home,, Eupora, with Rev. William Weddle officiating. Visitation will be 12:00 – 2:00 p.m. on Saturday before the funeral. She was born July 14, 1925 in Kentucky to the late Tilman and Lillie Armstrong and married Barney Helm January 1948 in Michigan, where they lived until 1983 when they retired in Arizona until 2001 when they moved to Mississippi to be near their daughters family. Belva was a professional seamstress for many years in Michigan and eventually owned a craft store. She was very active in golf, bowling and other women’s clubs. She was a very talented and creative woman and continued her activities while living in Arizona. Barney, her husband of 62 years passed away June 22, 2010. Belva passed on to be with the Lord at NMMC Long Term Care where she had resided since June 2011. She was a member of Walthall Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Sharon Potts and husband, Lonnie of Eupora; one son, Rick Helm and wife Denise of Shelby Twp., MI; granddaughter, Holly Pugsley and Husband, Scott of Starkville, MS; grandson Chad Potts and wife, Colleen of Dansville, IN; granddaughter, Lauren Helm, MI; grandson, Nick Helm, MI; 2 great- grandsons, Caleb and Cole Potts of Dansville,, IN; 1 great-grandson, Justin Potts, Starkville, MS; and 1 great-granddaughter, Danica Potts, Starkville, MS. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Richard Armstrong, Murray, KY; and most recently Barney, her husband. Pallbearers will be Rick Helm, Lonnie Potts, Chad Potts, Nick Helm, Caleb Potts, and Scott Pugsley. Burial will be at Spring Valley Cemetery, and memorial may be given to St. Jude. Treasure Kaitlyn Huffman

Treasure Kaitlyn Huffman, 19, passed away on May 9, 2012 in Starkville, MS. She was a graduate of Starkville High School, where she was involved in drama and on the Honor Roll. She was a student at Mississippi State University, where she was on the President List and the Dean’s List. She was also a Baptist and loved theatre, computers and music. She loved her family dearly. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers, Felix Huffman and Doug Shivers. She is survived by her parents, Richard and Lynn Huffman; sister, Taylor Kristen Huffman; and grandmothers, Syble Huffman and Dorothy Shivers; and great-grandmother, Iris Pollard, all of Starkville, MS. Visitation for Treasure was held Thursday, May 10, 2012 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. at Welch Funeral Home in Starkville, MS. Funeral services were held Friday, May 11, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at Adaton Baptist Church. Rev. Tom Daniel conducted the service. Burial was in Adaton Baptist Church Cemetery.
