MABEN — Hippety-Hop, Hippety-Hop went Peter Cotton Tail down the bunny trail at W.O. Shivers Park in Maben on April 7 as the third annual Easter egg hunt was held by the members of the Spring Valley Cemetery Committee and the town of Maben for any and all children of Maben.
Around 50 children of all ages gathered on the sidewalk the runs in front of the Maben Library for the shout of “1-2-3-Go” from Jeremiah Gammill. Armed with baskets of all kinds, the children were on the mark and when the shout came, they took off in a flash looking for the 500 eggs hidden by Michael Simmons, Gammill, Latoya Robinson and Tami McGee. The aforementioned committee members donated the eggs.
After the egg hunt, the children were treated to icy drinks served by the committee members.
This committee, on a regular basis, holds barbecues at the four-way stop in Maben on Saturday mornings to raise money to purchase equipment that they use in keeping the Spring Valley Cemetery cleaned.
The town of Maben salutes you for your good work that you do for others.
