Lady Wolverines host Strayhorn The East Webster High School softball team hosts Strayhorn today in Round 2 of the Class 2A State Playoffs. The game begins at 6 p.m. The Lady Wolverines travel to Strayhorn on Saturday for Game 2 and the third game if necessary. East Webster advanced to the second round after defeating Bruce in a three-game series last week. The Lady Wolverines won Game 1 of the series at home on Friday. Bruce, hosting on Saturday, won the second game19-14 but the Lady Wolverines won the third game 8-4. East Webster’s Autumn Frost hit two solo home runs in the first game of the day. Jennah Pate also hit a home run and Kayla White went 3-for-3. In Game 3 of the series, the Lady Wolverines got two RBI from Montana Spencer. Bailey Williams went 2-for-4. Lady Eagles host Hatley Eupora hosts Hatley on Friday in the second round of the Class 2A State Playoffs in softball. The Lady Eagles travel to Hatley on Saturday for Game 2 and a third game if necessary. Eupora beat Potts Camp 2-0 Friday and 11-1 in six innings Saturday to advance. Hannah McDonald had a three-RBI triple and an RBI double. Amber Dean got the win in the circle. Eupora’s season comes to an end The Eupora High School baseball team saw its season come to an end Saturday at home. The Eagles lost to Lumberton 18-5 to be eliminated from the Class 2A South State Playoffs. Lumberton, hosting on Friday, won the first game 8-2 in the first round of the playoffs. Eupora’s Brett Chapman recorded two hits. “The kids had a good year,” Eagle head coach Lee Berryhill said. “It was disappointing the way it ended.”
