Stroke is the fourth leading cause of death and the leading cause of long-term disability, according to North Mississippi Medical Center- Eupora. Someone has a stroke every single minute. Someone dies from a stroke every 3.1 minutes. Learning the symptoms of stroke — and knowing what to do when they occur — could save a life. Common stroke symptoms include: • Sudden numbness/weakness of the face, arm or leg — especially on one side of the body • Sudden confusion, trouble speaking or understanding • Sudden trouble seeing in one or both eyes • Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance or coordination • Sudden severe headache with no known cause
