The Revs. George Buell, Bryan Carrubba and Jerry Lawson officiated. She was born July 15, 1930, in Choctaw County. Mrs. Bruce was a legal secretary and a member of South Methodist Church. She died April 7, 2012, at OCH Regional Medical Center in Starkville. Dean E. Jones April 2, 2012 Services for Rev Dean E. Jones, 68, of West Point, formerly of Eupora, were April 6, 2012, at Liberty United Methodist Church in Eupora with the Rev. Fred Brown officiating. Burial was in Churchill Cemetery. Mr. Jones was a former aldermen for the city of Eupora. He died April 2, 2012, at North Mississippi Medical Center-West Point. Survivors include his wife, Janet Jones; a daughter, Deanna Virges; a son, Nicolet Jones; a stepson, Jarret Williams; a stepdaughter, Carissa Williams; two brothers, Charles Jones and Gregory Jones; a sister, Janice Bridges; and six grandchildren. Doyle Jones, 67, died Monday, April 2, 2012 at 3020 Lodi Road in Stewart, MS. Born July 20, 1944, in Neshoba County, MS, Doyle retired from the Vo-Tech in Eupora. He was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church at Stewart, MS. He is survived by his wife, Lucy Jones of Stewart, MS; two daughters, Rhonda Brasfield, Jennifer Halsdorf, both of Stewart, MS; two sons, Charlie Jones, Mark Jones, both of Eupora, MS; four sisters, Faye Savell, Bobbie Stovall, Shirley Blunt, all of Philadelphia, MS, and Sylvia Bell of Panama City, FL; and 13 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Dale, Myron, Stevie and Kevin May, Dale Boatman, Jr., Adam Cummings, Buck Meek III and Teddy Lampard. Honorary pallbearers were Jimmy Jones, Kenny Morris, Danny Mann, Wayne Burton, Pete Crowell, Bobby Smith, Jimmy Weeks, David Ellison, and Turner Jones. Services were held at Oliver Funeral Home Chapel at 11 a.m., April 5, 2012 with Rev. Johnny Walker officiating. Burial followed at Pine Forest Cemetery at Montgomery County. Samuel Harold “Sam” Phillips
Samuel Harold “Sam” Phillips, (69), was born on September 7, 1942 in Webster County Mississippi. He was the son of Jettie Jennings Frazier. Father of Michelle Phillips Maupin and son in law, David Maupin of Hendersonville NC, and to Katherine Phillips Martell and son in law, Edward Martell of Arlington Texas. Brother to Bailey Frazier of Oakland Mississippi, and Martha Frazier Ray and brother in law, Tommy Ray of Bellefontaine Mississippi. Grandfather to, Jessica, Brittany, Jack, Ethan, Eli, Aidan, Emily and Cooper. Great Grandfather to, Mikeal, Natalie Grace, Andrew, Dylan and John. His best friend at the end of life, his four legged constant companion Abbey. He is preceded in death by his father JB Frazier; daughter, Laura Ann Phillips; and Granddaughter, Amelia Rose Anderson. Sam proudly served in the US Marine Corp from 1959-1963 honorably discharged, where he was a marksmen and sharpshooter. He was a member of the American Legion until his death on April 14, 2012. After an 11 year battle with illness, he went peacefully in his sleep at the Elizabeth House Hospice in Hendersonville NC. The Funeral and Celebration of his life will be at the Fellowship Baptist Church in Bellefontaine Ms, on Saturday April 14, 2012, at 11:00 am.
