CUMBERLAND – The East Webster Wolverine Boy’s Baseball and Girls’ Softball teams both still remain undefeated in district play after The Easter Break. Both teams have a 3-0 record in district play. The Boy’s last played out of the district losing a close one at home to the 6A Columbus Falcons 1-0. East Webster Diamond Wolves now have an overall record of 9-6. Hampered by the weather, the team was unable to get any games in last week and will get back to district play Tuesday, April 10th when they host district foe Ackerman at 6:30pm. The Lady Wolverines traveled to Ackerman last Tuesday, April 3rd and won a district matchup 9-1. The Lady Wolves only led 3-1 at the beginning of the sixth inning, but were able to score six runs in the sixth to get the win. Autumn Frost led East Webster with two hits, one for a home run and three RBI’s. Michaela White followed with two hits and two RBI’s. Bailey Williams was the winning pitcher and went to 8-5 on the season. She only allowed one run on four hits. She walked three and struck out two. The East Webster Girl’s Fast Pitch Team improved their overall record to 9-6 and now must travel to face a 12-6 Eupora Team in a District 2A Region 3 battle Tuesday, April 10th. The Lady Eagles are 0-1 in district play. In other spring sports, The East Webster tennis team continues to do well. They play three matches this week against Houston Tuesday, April 10th, New Site at Northeast Community College Thursday, April 12th and Winona Friday, April 13th. The East Webster Boy’s Golf team hosted Ackerman at the Eupora Country Club on Wednesday, April 4th. The boys were unable to get the win. They now travel to Ackerman on Wednesday, April 11th. The top five boys will play at The Pine Hills Course against Bruce on Thursday, April 12th. The girls are back in action when they host Nanih Waiya at Eupora Country Club Monday, April 16th.
